Tarpon Arriving around May 15th

Fishing on the beach was late a usual this year with the tarpon arriving around the 15th of May along with the bait fish. Imagine that! It looks like it could be a late season. I don't expect the silver king to leave until 1 august. Tarpon are plentiful and on a good day you can see a hundred or more. Threadfin herring seem to be the best live bait and can be found in large schools on the beach. Picture of Vernon Veaughn from St. Petersburg with a nice fish caught on a threadfin.
